Stanford needs a three point shooter.

Agree.  Preferably a guard or wing.  Never liked Nunu and Lara shooting three's when their strengths were mid-range or driving to the basket.

We'll see if Stanford can acquire a few more portal pick-ups by the 20th.  Regarding Paye, I am beginning to think that the reason Donahoe never got back to you is because he has not been the one making the decisions.  I think it's been TVD all along, advising Donahoe not to fire KP, but to keep her on for a 3rd. season, despite what may have happened that led to all the transfers.

My speculation is based on the following assumption:  TVD groomed KP for all those years to eventually take over the team and continue the Stanford legacy and despite the fact that Paye has (in 2 seasons) shown her inability to coach on the big stage, Vanderveer can't accept that fact and throw her under the bus because Vanderveer believes that (firing her) would tarnish her own legacy; that she failed to pass on the torch to someone who could succeed.  I think this is all about TVD's ego; that she somehow believes KP MUST eventually succeed before Tara officially retires and fades into the sunset, knowing the program and her legacy is in safe hands.  It's conceivable that Donahoe wanted to fire Paye, but he didn't want to buck a legend.

I think that the situation is further clouded/complicated if it's true the Paye family is/has been a major donor to DAPER as someone noted earlier (can't remember if it was this thread or another), which would be a shame for the program, if not a bit of a COI.

At any rate, I was encouraged by your thoughts on Inés Sotelo so checked out some video and liked what I saw - her style of play and athleticism reminded me of the Hull twins.  Our shopping list is still long, but it looks like she can be an immediate contributor on both ends of the court.
