Christy Mathewson.
Interesting guy, Christy Mathewson. Lived in a duplex on 85th in NYC when he played for the Giants next door to John McGraw, his manager. Very religious, didn't play on Sundays. Played baseball, basketball and football at Bucknell. Made Walter Camp's All-American football team in 1900 as a "12th man" because he was a terrific drop kicker.
Walter Camp named 1st, 2nd and 3rd team All American collegiate football teams starting in 1890. When did a Stanford player first make his All-American team, and who was it? And who was Stanford's first All-American football player on any major list? Who was the last Stanford player to make the Walter Camp All-American team?
