Those personnel decisions circumscribe what is possible. That limits what the game plan can be because of inherent roster limitations.(Yesterday, 12:06 PM)Goose Wrote:(Yesterday, 11:53 AM)Nobadeer Wrote: Jalen Hurts is likely out for the rest of the season. McKee might be the Eagles starting QB going forward? I didn't see him play yesterday but it didn't seem like a scintillating performance. Still, this is his big chance.Actually, IMO this is a bad situation for McKee. He has never fit well as a replacement for Hurts because he is nowhere near as athletic/good as a runner. The Eagles offense is built around Hurts' different skill set, and that offense is already struggling. It is a very big ask for McKee to step in and make said offense "work". McKee has had a very nice career as a back-up QB for the Eagles. If he isn't able to "solve" the Eagles problem going forward this year, they may question his suitability to be Hurts' backup in the future.
I suspect the coaches are strong enough to realize that, and have a different game plan in mind for McKee.
