The special neutral-site matchups are usually week 1, week 2 is often completely bereft of interesting games. Obviously this has to wait for the other conferences' schedules to come out, but I'd be shocked if that game wasn't a prime-time game.
Some other P12 games on September 14:
Texas Tech at Arizona
Arizona State at Michigan State
USC at BYU
Oklahoma at UCLA
But if UCF is still undefeated heading into the Stanford game, it could be more intriguing than anything else on the calendar that day. The networks will want a prime time game.
I will guarantee, off the top, that Oklahoma at UCLA, and USC at BYU will be more compelling as far as a national audience than our game. Which means our game is going to be, at best, third in our conference. And right now nationally, the Pac-12 is not as relevant as the other conferences, which means that also says nothing about any other marquee matchups in more successful/relevant conferences nationally. Finally, for all of UCF's success over the past two years, they are still a Group of 5 school. Their marquee non-conference home game this year against Pitt was on ESPN-U with a 12:30pm PT kickoff. Granted, we have been a better, and perhaps, more compelling program than Pitt, but I think the idea that this game ends up on ABC Primetime for example is overly optimistic.
