I think that was after six straight 0-11 or 1-10 seasons. Denny was there for four years and went 3-8, 2-9, 2-9, 3-8. They had been to one Rose Bowl in 1948, but hadn't been to another bowl game of any kind until the 1995 Rose Bowl.

Yeah I worked 20hrs/week at HP during our first year and that is definitely not something I’d want to try again. That was in the Jurassic pre-laptop age and the saving grace was that my boss’ admin (aka a secretary back in the day) helped me out by typing most of my papers for me. That was when I still knew how to write cursive, LOL.

Depends on the background of the student.   It might be hard for a non-athlete to go to business school and play football, but I am not really sure it would seem that difficult for a person that was on a Power 5 team and just navigated 3 or 4 years in the student-athlete experience.

A lot of business school is the time spent networking with current students & recent grads and various group projects.  I would imagine that playing on the football team would make it easier to find current students and recent grads willing to network.  A lot of first year students also spend time chasing down high profile internships, and that would not be a worry for a player with aspirations of getting called to an NFL camp.

Not easy, but not impossible.  And they would have more memorable interview responses for...
