I posted a question to volleytalk about evaluating Stanford vs. FAU.  Someone who has seen FAU (but not Stanford) basically said their 1s and 2s are strong, the 4s and 5s are not that experienced on the beach.  And their 3s are beatable.

Disappointing 3-0 loss to FAU.  Four of the matches went three sets.

Stanford's 3s had match point when the dual ended.  But the 1s were in trouble in their third set.

The FAU Owls were slightly better today than Stanford.  Next year I expect Stanford to be about the same in the national rankings.  SoCal and south Florida teams have an inherent recruiting advantage for the most elite players due to year round warm weather.  I'm happy with Stanford making the NCAA tournament each year even if they can't get past the first or second round.

BobK, any word lately on 2023 Jordyn Harvey.  She lists her status as pending acceptance. Harvey should be getting an admissions decision in the near future if not gotten one already.
