22 players? Is there a special maximum roster rule for Stanford? Or did the House settlement allow for an interim rule to retain existing players?

There is a clause to retain some Walkons ?? I don’t recall. Limit otherwise is 19. Plus for months we thought we would have 21 they added one recently

IIRC, the judge forced the House settlement to include a change so that no current players would be forced off rosters.
Not exactly sure how this works in the long run, but I guess 22 are allowed this year.
Ruby Sorra will be playing in an FIVB event in Montreal, starting with the qualifier tomorrow (representing Canada).
Alumna Xolani Hodel will also be in the quali.
Several current players also entered in the Manhattan Beach Open qualifier, which starts Thursday.

Alumna Sunny Villapando has been in the Philippines (off and on) and training as part of their national team. She hasplayed some FIVB "Futures" (development level) events repping them. This week she (& partner Floremel Rodriguez) went to an event in Busan, South Korea. They made it through the qualifier and went 2-0 in pool. They had a first round bye, but lost in the second round to tie for 5th. Her best finish so far.
And Ofure Odigie is representing Ontario in the Canada Games in St. John's, New Foundland. She and her partner (E.J. Cudmore) won their semifinal this morning: https://www.canadagames.ca/summer-videos...ts/25bvb70

Xolani Hodel and Kylie Deberg made it through the qualifier (one match) of the FIVB Elite Hamburg ("Elite" = high level, big money).
They went 1-1 in pool (knocking out another American team) but then lost in the first round of the winner's bracket, to finish with a 13th. They split $4500.
Several Stanford players are signed up for next weekend's Hermosa Beach Open, which is put on by the city, since the AVP can't be bothered to stage many real events any more.

Senior (!) Kelly Belardi is representing the USA (with Natalie Myszkowski) in San Salvador at a NORCECA event.
Freshman Mikki Carlin is playing in the Newport Laguna Beach AVP event. Won the first Q match (with Samantha Herman), have to win two more to get to the main draw. Alum Kate Reilly went 1-1 in the qualifier.

Yesterday was picture day for the team. Expect pictures of the freshmen will be up soon.
Earlier this year it was announced that four schools that previously competed in the CCSA for beach volleyball were moving to the MPSF for this season (2025-6). Now two of those teams, Florida State and South Carolina, have announced they are moving to the Big XII instead. (And Boise State also moving to B12.)
I don't suppose it's as simple as geography for the eastern teams.
So MPSF will have ten beach teams this season.
Earlier this year it was announced that four schools that previously competed in the CCSA for beach volleyball were moving to the MPSF for this season (2025-6). Now two of those teams, Florida State and South Carolina, have announced they are moving to the Big XII instead. (And Boise State also moving to B12.)
I don't suppose it's as simple as geography for the eastern teams.
So MPSF will have ten beach teams this season.

Junior Clara Stowell and alumna Kate Reilly are representing the USA at a NORCECA event, in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, this weekend.
They went 2-1 in pool play and will advance to the quarterfinals later today.

The 13th seed Reilly/Stowell duo were knocked off by fellow Americans (#3 seed) Urango/Whalen in the QF.
Reilly/Stowell will play another match tomorrow to determine if they finish with a 5th or a 7th.
