No, certainly not. And I’m frustrated with that result. I’m more frustrated with coming out completely flat in doubles, and with Madurawe’s result. 

And it puts the Pepperdine match in perspective. We got 3 points, but only one from a dependable source: #6 singles. We can’t count on doubles, as we’ve seen. We know we shouldn’t count on Gordon, given how she always catches the best player the opponent has. But if we can’t reliably chalk up wins from 4 and 5? That’s just disastrous for our chances. Those lines need to be wins, every time (other elite opponents excepted).

Health update on Geller and Choy from the Pepperdine game.

Both freshman Ana Geller and junior Sara Choy battled through cramping in their legs during their singles matches. While Geller was forced to retire while trailing in the second set, Choy kept playing

That's what Lord and Lampl did for us for 4 years: we got 2 singles points out of them almost every match. In most matches we just had to scrounge up 2 more points from doubles and the other 4 singles matches.
