Is it possible to drop out of college while in your freshman year and be eligible for the MLB draft in June of the same year?

Players who have graduated high school but not attended college are eligible for the draft, as are those who have completed at least one year of junior college. Players attending four-year colleges are eligible to be drafted upon completing their junior year or turning 21 years old.

I believe there's an avenue for a player in Phogge's scenario to be able to enter the next draft.

The rules for NCAA to JUCO transfers are not the same as NCAA to NCAA, specifically it's possible (not automatic) to obtain immediate eligibility at the JUCO. If a player hasn't played for the 4-year school (even if he enrolled) he is very likely to receive immediate eligibility at a JUCO and thus be able to declare for the draft after freshman year.

Could a player commit to Stanford, got though a few weeks of fall workouts, decide he made the wrong decision, transfer to San Joaquin Delta, receive immediate eligibility, declare for the draft after freshman year? it would be unusual but technically possible.

Player can transfer out if they have not played in an official game. Not sure if the rule still applies, if the transfer goes to JUCO, they have to obtain AA degree before transferring to a NCAA school. With transfer portal, not sure if that rule changed. Player is eligible to be drafted out of JC, and a player only has 2 years of JC eligibility.
