The only concern is the O line. If McGlinchy is ok they may move McKivitz to LG. They also need Brunskill back. Two holds by Burford.

It's not possible for the pre-season exhibitions to be any more meaningless. Kyle Shanahan made clear he'd rather not play the games and just have joint practices instead. That mentality can't help but seep into the heads of the players expected to be the big producers. You can't get a worse exhibition of football than this:
1. Most starters are held out
2. The ones who play know it is meaningless, and have heard the head coach say as much
3. There are some guys on the field who know they will make the team while others are giving it their all to make it
4. No game planning, no intensity, no consequences for W or L

I guess you played just like #50 in the second half, whiffing on blocks because it really doesn’t matter. Why should he try, he’s just going to get cut.
How about trying a little analysis instead of being Kyle’s mind reader. Maybe like Mick’s take on Sermon.

I don't think I need to play in an NFL exhibition game to understand that if the leader doesn't prioritize something, the followers won't either. I'm not putting any stock in or drawing any conclusions from these pre-season exhibition games, good or bad. They are just not indicative of what teams will be like when the games count.

When I posted in the Giants thread that they should sell because they were going nowhere - on June 8 or 9 - I had enough information to conclude the Giants were pretenders and should be liquidating for younger assets in the interest of being more competitive in the future. My point is when I feel conviction I am not bashful about making my case. But I'm also comfortable not drawing conclusions when I don't have enough data to feel confident one way or another.
I don't have enough information to conclude much about the Niners at this point and said why I don't. There's just too many mixed data points and unknowns for me to have any conviction about how the offense will perform at this point, but I do believe the defense should be very good.

My reference to the Giants assessment was simply an example of how I only have conviction when I feel good about the information available to me. It is y'all who are patting me on the back by implicitly expressing you believe I made the correct call, not me.

I just don't see the point of being forced to make a choice when yer basically flipping a coin. It doesn't betray any knowledge or wisdom when correct, and I can be "held responsible" for being wrong when I never thought I had the answer. I don't "write checks my body can't cash," know and am comfortable with my limitations.

Heck, ive been following the team and organization religiously for close to 60 years. I catch about 130- 150 games a year. Admittedly at this stage of my life almost exclusively on TV. Yet, my history etc pales compared to some on this board.
I will admit I get a kick out of “y’all”. Reminds me of how Rick Barry got out of his contract with the Virginia Squires so he could return to the Warriors.

I will admit I get a kick out of “y’all”. Reminds me of how Rick Barry got out of his contract with the Virginia Squires so he could return to the Warriors.
