Comes down to 4th. Wilson made plays. JG didn’t. Not surprising.
Can’t play much better defensively. But offense gave up 5 points. Pretty awful performance. Line got smoked. JG not good. And that’s an understatement. Fumble. 2ints. And walked into a safety - which ultimately saved 5 points…..
If Williams is out a long time, forget it.
Garcia? That’s like a test question: “one of these is not like the other”.

He was high on many passes. Denver has a very good defense. Bosa was gassed on the last drive. Still I like the Niners chances.
One benefit for me is without Lance I don't have to worry about the read option which is the hardest shot to follow from my position, especially if it is run to the opposite side of the field. Takes incredible concentration.

Garoppolo demonstrated why the choice was Lance. His margin for error is just too small and he can't make off schedule plays.
Pitiful that they haven't allowed over 257 yards of offense in a game and are 1-2. The passing game is atrocious.
Shanahan is going to have to re-think his approach because it is not working as planned.

Easy answer, they all have achieved multiple pro bowl status, including Garcia. Montana (8x pro bowl), Young (7x pro bowl), Brodie (2x pro bowl), Garcia (4x NFL pro bowl and 4x CFL All Star). Garoppolo hasn't achieved any of those awards.
Garoppolo has more in common with Colin Kaepernick. Neither was ever a Pro Bowler, both led the NFL one time in average yards per passing attempt, both lost a Super Bowl.

Interesting that Steve Young, Ronnie Lott, and Tim Ryan all said September is the new preseason. Expect teams to look really rusty. Sharp some plays, a comedy of errors the next. Interesting takes. Ryan added there are still 14 games left. . . .

I have zero complaints with the young OL. They are holding their own and will continue improving. It's not the problem for the Niners, though sans Trent Williams the OL might be an area of concern. Turnovers and the piss poor passing game production is why the Niners are 1-2 and not 3-0.

Losing Willians is a brobdingnagian loss. His replacement actual had several wiffs as in not even touching the DLineman He was replaced but that was only slightly better

Just watched Jonnydell All-22 of the game. There were failures all over on offense. I still believe Garoppolo was the biggest problem, but teams usually don't lose because of one guy. Both Niners losses are replete with failures all over the field.
I'm beginning to suspect high coaching turnover on offensive side of the ball is having an impact on in-game execution and Shanahan misses Mike McDaniel dearly.

Fairly big game tonight. Not “must-win”, way too early for that. Niners defense is good enough to keep them in any game. I think it’s going to be close. And low scoring. Losing Williams hurts. And Donald is going to be testing an untested interior o-line.

Fairly big game tonight. Not “must-win”, way too early for that. Niners defense is good enough to keep them in any game. I think it’s going to be close. And low scoring. Losing Williams hurts. And Donald is going to be testing an untested interior o-line.
