The Niners should dominate the LOS because they have in both games these two played in the regular season. I see no reason to believe this will change. Arik Armstead didn't play in the second game, like he did the first (when the Niners held them to 39 yards on the ground and 0 offensive points), and he will today.

Remember the play vs Arizona in the RZ when both Mitchell and CMac were both in?  Gun.  Michell lone. Setback. CMac in slot left, comes in motion left to right, giving impression of possible jet sweep. Counter instead to Mitchell who hits hole inside left tackle.  Scores. 

I raise this cause I think we may see Mitchell and CMac in game together for several snaps.  Shanahan is brilliant at creating in the run game. Seattle has a poor run defense.  Niners need to run on a sloppy field in the rain to win.

Levi's has adequate drainage. Not known for mud like Candlestick. Geno Smith can throw long but it's problematic in the rain. Carroll has to solve the McCaffrey quandary to win. Tough chance. Niners by 10.

Candlestick would have been a swamp…..  I went to a playoff game in the rain at the Stick. Niners-Cowboys. I think ‘97.  Young hits Rice on 80 yard TD first play.   Holding. Called back.  Game went downhill from there.

So the Niners were better on offense and worse on defense than I expected.

Just couldn't understand why no expert I saw predicting thought the Niners could score more than 27.

Brandon Aiyuk is a very good football player. Doesn’t get near the credit he deserves.  It’s not just his  receiving. His downfield blocking is as good as I’ve  ever seen for a  receiver.

Comparing anyone to John Taylor is high praise. And a very good call on your part. Rice also blocked well.  Taylor is so underrated. Loved watching him. Long strider, just a great runner.

I was struck by how different the game plan was.  When they beat Seattle several weeks ago, the offense was centered on CMac pounding away.  32 carries    I think. Yesterday they came out throwing. Course he didn’t have Deebo last time in Seattle. 

I’m still waiting for Mitchell and Mac to be on field together for 5-10 plays.  This offense has so many ways to attack you.  And a mastermind to find more.

How many games does it take to tell if a guy has "it" as a QB? After he came in cold to play against the Dolphins when Garoppolo left the field, many people remained skeptical of Brock Purdy. Colin Cowherd proclaimed the Niners' Super Bowl hopes were over. Other people said "wait until the league can figure him out."  

After the WC game, reporters asked Kyle Shanahan the obligatory "are you surprised by what Purdy did today in his first playoff game?"" question (after asking it for the 5 previous weeks).  Shanahan flat out said no, noting just doing what he did against the Dolphins proved his ability. And he added that playoff games aren't unique from others, except for if you lose your season ends.  The point he was making is every NFL game is really hard and teams do everything they can to win. IOW, Shanahan had a pretty good idea what to expect form Purdy in his first playoff game because he's proven what he can do already.  And he didn't say it, but the fact is the Niners cut Nate Sudfeld before the season started and kept Purdy on the roster. Shanahan saw so much from Purdy since they had him that they were not gonna risk losing him to another team by trying to sign Purdy to their practice squad.

If Shanahan isn't surprised by Purdy, it might be time to stop being skeptical about him, rookie or not.
