NBC broadcasts NDs home games and the contract is still going strong although NBC can put some games on
Peacock. ND can get back at Stanford for this slight by putting the 2024 game (the last one scheduled)
on Peacock. Tit for tat.

ESPN could have televised the game. Instead, they took Cal vs. UCLA.
Fox could have televised the game. Instead, they took WSU vs. Washington.
Stanford is not a draw, but apparently neither are the Irish.

unacceptable for Notre Dame (and whatever Stanford fans show up).

You may have a point. I looked at start times for Stanford vs. ND in odd years (i.e., at Stanford the Saturday after Thanksgiving) going back to 2009. The game never started after 5 pm. That may be a result of Notre Dame influence or it may be that ABC/ESPN and Fox want to broadcast an Irish game that the East Coasters can watch in prime time. But Notre Dame's appeal seems to have waned since both ABC/ESPN and Fox passed on carrying the game this year.

The Irish fans are disillusioned. The 7-3 record means no "good" bowl. Sam Hartman, who was supposed to lead them to success, basically failed in every "difficult" game. (Not my words, ND fan website words). He should be benched so they can give their other QBs experience for next year. Oh, and they don't like their coach either :-). Stanford's record is not impressive. Plenty of reason to not watch this game on TV.

The only reason USC and UCLA is on ABC is Caleb Williams. Otherwise, what a dreadful game. Cal and Stanford will be more competitive, IMO.

The second largest market in the country is the reason SC/UCLA is always the preferred game (over any other western choices) on the Saturday before Thanksgiving. Of course, on the same day, Michigan/Ohio State will probably be the highest rated game of the season….
