Rubin is dressed. Looks like she is having a good time chatting with the subs. Standing between Kurt and Pringle.
Stanford plays well enough to win first set.
Thanks. Did she participate in warm up drills?

Stanford up 15-8 in set 2. Yu gets set, one blocker facing her who falls down. Yu gets a kill.

No Blyashov either? Given no Rubin, does this mean that Blyashov's injury is not healed yet? Or is the plan to redshirt her?
BC
I was about to post that she's been perfect so far, but she failed to put one down and now she's only hitting .857

That's a wrap: 22, 13, and 8!
Looks like no Rubin, but per my friend at the game, she was not injured, so it might have been Hambly "trying some things"
Syracuse hit -0.023 for the match, which tells you about all you need to know. Harvey (.250) and Kurt (.192) did not have stellar games, especially considering the opponent, but Francis hit .524 with 12 kills and Yu hit .600 (though I think she missed her last 4 after starting a perfect 6/6.
Seems like Syracuse is just not very good. -.0.23 hitting, 5 service errors (no aces), 3 receiving errors, and the game ends on a a bad set.

Hambly said in the chalk talk that Rubin would be sitting out tonight due to some minor health/injury (not sure which word he used) issue. But that she would be play tomorrow. So must be very minor. He also said Blyashov was not yet cleared to play, but would be "soon". Doesn't sound like they plan to redshirt her.
ETA: As mentioned on VT, Rubin's issue is a sore shoulder.

Hambly is a smart guy. Playing on consecutive nights, with tonight’s game against a weak team, give Rubin the night off.

Boston College at Stanford tonight 7:00pm PT. Boston College is 8-9 winning their first conference match last night against Cal in a five setter.
I read elsewhere Rubin has a slight shoulder strain. If it were me, I would not play her. I think Stanford should be ok without using Rubin and they can always put her in if needed. I dealt with soft tissue shoulder injuries back in the day and rest was always the best treatment.
FWIW, watching on livestream last night I thought the Stanford band sounded better than it has for years.

SMU also beat Nebraska no? They seem to be worthy additions to the ACC at least for football and volleyball. Somewhat surprising to me.
Boston College match. Rubin playing. Stanford up 10-8.
Stanford up 15-9. BC not looking so good right now. Miner on another serving run.
Stanford wins set 1 25-13. The only fans who would find this match interesting is Stanford fans and maybe a few BC fans.

After a decent ACC NX announcer Friday night, we are back to the "tooled-the-block" announcer.
Sigh....
By the way, the camera at one end has some kind of color aberration that smears the colors when showing the server at the opposite end (Stanford, in set 1). Look at the whites behind the server. It bugs me.

I believe that the announcer last night was Stanford's own Kevin Danna.
