Juliette Whitaker wound up 9th in the W800m finals yesterday, running 2:00.54 and closing out her Stanford career by earning 2nd team AA honors. Sanu Jallow-Lochart from Arkansas won with a new collegiate record time of 1:56.85, breaking the collegiate record (1:57.72) set by Athing Mu in 2021 and the meet record set by last year by Roisin Willis (1:58.13). Whitaker was running in 2nd until ~ 200M left then ran out of gas and got passed up by the rest of the field - closing out a great career which included finishing as the national indoor and outdoor 800m champ in 2024, and finishing 7th in the event at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
After winning the long jump on Thursday, yesterday Alyssa Jones finished eighth in the high jump with a season-best 1.87 meters (6-1½), again earning first team AA honors.
With Mena Scatchard's semi finish in the 1500m, our Cardinal contingent scored 11 points to finish 24th overall in team standings. I believe all three ladies have no eligibility remaining, so many thanks and best wishes to them and to all the other 2026 graduates.
