This one flipped when Eschmeyer got foul #4 late in the third. That limited our third best scoring option and left us with either Eschmeyer trying to defend in the post with 4 fouls or MAS just trying to defend the post. ND steadily pulled away through the fourth quarter as a result.
Obviously, -10 rebounding didn’t help today. If ND was its normal 3 point shooting self or if we had a more typical turnover game (only 13 today), this was probably another blowout loss.

This game was competitive for quite some time and I believe that a healthy Nunu Agara might have won it for Stanford, but things began to fall apart when Stanford seemed to stop play-making and went more one on one. One bright note, in the first half, players (with the exception of Clardy), were getting the ball into Eschmeyer in the low block and she did some good work. I did not see much of that in the 2nd. half.
Very concerned about Somfai's lack of production for 2 games in a row. She is not in the rhythm that we have seen in many prior games. Even when she gets the ball, she doesn't look good, driving to the hoop, or even making layups. Don't know what's going on there.
Stanford is definitely on a downward slide. They seem to lack a cohesiveness that's essential to competing for 40 minutes.

Lara definitely had some bad body language when she was pulled the first time. Chloe and Alex
were also pulled early so Kate was actively engaged, so to speak. In the second half, I noticed that one of Lara’s thumbs was taped up which might have something to do with her rough outing. I actually thought it wasn’t a bad game for this Cardinal team but they didn’t have answers for Hidalgo and as Hieronymus pointed out, once Alex got her fourth foul, ND kept attacking the paint and pulled away. As an aside, I didn’t see either Nunu or Talana on the bench - I wonder if a bug is spreading across the team. And not sure whether this was mentioned but there was a moment of silence before the game for Tara’s mom.

I have not-very-complimentary thoughts about today's CW announcers and production. Did you notice the starting lineup shown on CW had "Somfai Lara" (vs Lara Somfai)? I guess they read the box score wrong too. (It would have been nice if they had mentioned Tara was in the audience but had just lost her mother.)

But I enjoy when I can see the game on CW (despite the announcers) because it is a broadcast channel for me. So I get it on my Tivo OTA.
Compared to Sling,
- I get to see the game in HD.
- I can pause the broadcast and actually see the image.
- I can then resume without having it spin a circle for 10 seconds.
- I can watch in slow motion.
- I don't have to sit through ads Sling forces into the replay.
- (I haven't done it for a few years, but last I tried it, I can get the digital recording)

i sure was. galvez parking wasn't open. i asked the 2 officers i saw in track field parking (also full) and they said lot 2 was closed for an event next weekend. they suggested parking on palm drive. i ended up parking by bing concert hall.
i wrote mike stryker, head of tickets and asked him to pass on to the parking folks that maybe they could open galvez parking &/or warn us in advance. mike forwarded me the reply from the head of parking: lot 2 was not closed, galvez lot is open only if we request it for busy games (he didn't specify who "we" might be) and i should have parked in the gsb structure.
i was surprised and disappointed the parking folks were so defensive and unhelpful.

I got there early and parked in the Track Lot, due to seeing the signs before the Louisville game announcing Feb 1-7 prohibiting parking in the Varsity Lot. I decided to head back to my car via the Varsity Lot on Sunday, and it looked like many people had parked there.
In any case, communication for both games was terrible. Since public parking is not free until 4 p.m., having a 5 p.m. tip-off doesn't give you a ton of wiggle room. I had expected some sort of either leniency on Thursday, or at the very least a reminder re: Thursday's game and some sort of notification about Sundays.
And don't even get me started on the post-game mess trying to get out of the parking lots. There aren't enough people attending the games to explain why it takes nearly 30 minutes to get off campus. Am I misremembering that this used to be easier pre-COVID?

Total speculation, but if the rumor about the Patriots using Stanford facilities is true, that seems like a good guess as to why that parking would be unavailable thru 02/07

Not a rumor, but reported fact. AFC team using Stanford, NFC team using San Jose State.
