Tara gave what I took to be truly heartfelt comments that showed a love for Stanford, basketball and her players. Pure class, for sure.
As only a casual WBB fan, I do feel better after watching the presser. I get the sense that Tara, while emotional at times, is looking forward to stepping away from the grind and has some idea of what will give her the most fulfillment after coaching. She has given so much to Stanford and the game of basketball, I'm very happy to get a sense that she is truly looking forward to doing something new and not just burnt out or exhausted with coaching. I am happy for her.
As to the future of women's hoops, I surely understand why diehard fans are grieving today. Great coaches are few and far between. Only time will tell.
