According to Craig Melvin on The Today Show this morning, Tara’s career wins record is “one of those records that will never be broken,” … which shows how much he knows about women’s basketball. Unless he knows something we don’t, I suppose… :-)

Belatedly adding my gratitude to Tara, who has given me many wonderful memories over 35 years. I had figured Geno would pass her next season but that she’d coach longer and pass him in the end. Alas, who am I to question someone who has gotten it right way more often than not for the program, for the sport, and for herself? Glad we’ll continue to see Tara at Maples. My son (whom I dragged to many games including the one that ended UConn’s winning streak in 2010) speculates that she may be asked by Lacob to advise on the new Bay Area WNBA team. Rest assured, Tara will continue to impact WBB on the Farm and beyond.
