Yes, there were crossovers.
I may be butchering this history. But my recollection is that when thebootleg first joined a broader network, it joined rivals (at the time, there was no scout), and rivals basically was formed from a collection of independent sites like the Bootleg. That first network fell apart (likely from financial pressures), and basically broke into two separate networks, scout and rivals. The Bootleg went with Scout. Rivals, meanwhile, established its own Stanford site, but for many years it was an afterthought, lacking both the content and community of the Bootleg. Over the years, several Bootleg columnists covered recruiting, to a lesser or greater extent, mostly out for a pittance. Andy D was the best (at least in the post-Eubanks era), and he was poached by the Stanford Rivals site, so while the Bootleg continued to have a better community, Rivals actually had the recruiting scoops.
