Disagree on a few counts. First, it took the departure of ferrari to calm things down, (which isn't terribly surprising when he was an admitted troll), garvin just decided that was a bridge too far and took his ball and went home. Second, that whole snafu happened like ten months before the election. Third, it wasn't really election talk that caused issues, more generally controversial stuff. I honestly can't remember the election coming up in here at all, but last fall my kid decided that sleep was a luxury so I don't remember much of anything from then...

Anyway, sticking to sports and pop-culture stuff has worked pretty well since then.

I'm going to tiptoe around the exact wording since it escapes me, but garvin felt there were multiple trolls, and to only ban one was a biased decision.  It was the admin's call, and garvin left in protest.  It is not untrue that it generally takes two to tango, though one might be a lead and the other a follow.

Shall we expect the denizens of the Thunderdome to migrate here in their full glory?  (Oh boy.)

P.S. I hope this board, going forward, can be a place where we collaboratively bring out the best in each others' Stanford fan spirit.  I don't think we can go wrong there.  I've been exceedingly lucky to have met many Cardboarders in person, and I don't want to ever avoid meeting anyone here :)

Maybe someone who read Johnny O's posts on Thunderdome over there?  But new board, new start, long time source with an actual player's background.  Now, if he's willing to support our triennial voluntary fundraising "extravaganza" this Fall (at a quarter the cost of the Booty), what's not to like?  Works for me.

I'm not going to attribute blame to anyone but I will say that the site has been much more pleasant over the past 14 months, which is especially gratifying since, if anything, the world has gotten far more political since then. Thank you all for providing a haven of sanity in a world of nonsense. :)

Let me just say that every T-Dome regular sans one or two has been here for years although a few do not post regularly.  When in Rome, one does as the Romans do.  Even my wife has rules around the house.  Some of us from TOS have kept our TOS screen names, others have not and post as different entities.  I was sorry to see many of the former TOS guys migrate because some like Boston Card, my old Magnolia mate Hulk01 and a few others were worth reading most of the time.  Much of the ire and resentment on TOS came from the interactions on the CEB and some infighting on the premie board but not T-Dome which was ignored by 97% plus of posters and populated by only a few who terribly missed our adolescence.  T-Dome was always its own world and was not a source of discontent for anyone who had zero interest in T-Dome shenanigans. Because this place is totally apolitical, some of us have been here for years without attribution or controversy and it will remain so.

Glenn posts on The Council Facebook group, which I think you frequent.  That format lends itself to fragments and sentences, and not paragraphs and essays where Glenn shines.  I've been trying to coax him back here through various channels to no avail.  That his self-imposed exile lasted an entire season has all but extinguished any hope for his return.  The only scenario I can see him coming back is if the football team makes an expectations shattering epic run, where he can't resist our company.  Fingers crossed.
