That was the game when a husky USC post player kept intentionally undercutting her. It was the game that Nadia got knocked down a few times and didn’t get up after the last jolt to the knees.
It has been fun watching Nadia play so effectively this season though, and especially, seeing her enjoy the game so much!
Nadia was injured in the Pac-12 conference opener January 4, 2019, almost exactly a year ago. That must be what Tara meant by "this game last year." You're right that the opponent was USC.

It has been a long road getting her back but the WSU game was the first she really looked like she was playing aggressively again. Think she could have made a lot more threes if our guards looked for her on the pick and roll (out to the 3 point line). The defense never went out with her and she was asking for the ball. Really great to have her back.

In the category of high point games, the race is on.
After 12 games:
Lexie Hull 3
Haley Jones 3
Kiana Williams 2
Nadia Fingal 2
Hannah Jump 1
Lacie Hull 1
It seems unlikely that there's another team with 6 different high point scorers, but even more unlikely is that there is another team with their most frequent high point scorer having only 3 high point games after 12 games. (If Carrington comes back, she may also join the high-point club. Prechtel got 17 against Buffalo, so she has a chance to get in there. Belibi is also possible.)
Our opponents must get very frustrated playing whack-a-mole.
Speaking of "whack-a-...", Stanford has an advantage over most of the other PAC-12 schools in that we are have less risk this year of having someone injured for the season by USC.

Exactly the kind of team that Tara's defense has problems with.
And we have exactly half the risk of sustaining injuries against SC!
I do dislike the imbalanced schedule, however. It has been very kind to UCLA. They get us only once, and the Oregon schools only once (at home), and have already beaten ASU once. Today's Arizona/UCLA game (right before ours) has big implications. Will be fascinating to see how those two undefeated teams fare.

Thanks for the correction. I normally am anxious enough to triple check things that I'm going to post, but not this time.
