If you read only this board your comment would be 100% accurate.
That's not true; if you read this board you'd be aware that we are also a golf school (women's especially, but also men's), a tennis school (again, mostly women's), a volleyball school (pretty much all women), a gymnastics school (especially the men), a cross country school...
BC
BTW, Spencer Jones was in attendance at the last WBB home game.

It's so painful to see this every season. So much individual talent and they can't play cohesively as a team on offense.
I think you overestimate the talent.

I believe we do have talent. The polls picked us 5th in the league that’s talent. But we have the same old offense. No kick outs for threes. Our posts roam on the outside but few screens what are they doing there? Wisconsin kicked out for open threes
Ugh

Per 247Sports.com, here are Haase's recruiting rankings:
2017 - 14
2018 - 20
2019 - 59
2020 - 19
2021 - 21
So unless you think their rankings are garbage, I think there's a pretty strong argument that the talent IS there

The players that made those rankings good are no longer on the team. Every single 4*+ player from the bolded classes is no longer on the roster.
Put another way, every single upperclass player on the current team was a 3* recruit. Is that "the talent?"

Why are you limiting it to only upperclass players? Plenty of teams around the country have true freshmen not only playing but starting and being impact players - and have for years.
Maybe it's because the current freshman class doesn't support the basis of your argument.
And it also does nothing to explain the previous season when 4* and 5* talent was on the roster and the results were the same big ball of mediocrity we got from Dawkins.
That game was just Jerod Haase 6.0 - a version that never should have happened but we are now stuck with.

Talent retention has always been an issue with Haase. But Whatever the issue, now that Haase has been at Stanford 6+ years, the team he has is all his, so if the issue is lack of talent, then he has failed to recruit well, if the issue is talent retention, he needs to do a better job keeping players on the team (or recruiting players who will stay on the team), if the issue is talent development, that’s on him too, and if the issue is his system, the buck stops with him.

So, Bob, given the flaws you identified, why don't you draw and state the obvious conclusion? The bigs shouldn't be roaming the perimeter looking for 3 point shots. Why are the guards not trained to drive and finish or kick out? It's obvious what the problem is. By the way, it is not obvious to me that our talent level is that good. We shot 1 for 16 from deep against the Badgers; 6.6%! Pathetic, and yet Haase says that the Cardinal is a good three-point-shooting team. Perhaps so in practice and when the other team plays loose perimeter D. Not when they play tight perimeter D. To loosen up a tight perimeter D we need wings and guards that can take it to the hoop with good ball control and either kick out or finish. Do we have such? Not clear, except for Davidson transfer Michael Jones.

All of what you said was true after 5 years too...Haase is lucky to still have his job and I'm guessing he knows that. But he is who he is and what he's doing isn't working. The system doesn't appear to fit the personnel very well (hmmm, where else have we seen that???), and despite the talent coming the door the whole doesn't equal the sum of the parts.
I remain hopeful that this season will be different in a good way, but I do wonder if it will be better enough to make the Big Dance
