Yes, but that's in California, not another state. Even so, to me it's a more legit "below sea level" than New Orleans, since that lower elevation territory is mostly artificially created. And then there's the matter of rising sea levels, going on right now. Just what is "sea level" anyway? Do all the map official elevations need to be changed? This could drift, like sea level, into a very Stanford nerd discussion.

I think nearly everything on this board is already a very Stanford nerdy discussion--nothing better than nerds talking sports ;)

I guess this goes on this thread. At any rate, Lauren Betts is this week's Pac-12 Frosh of the week, 1st one of these we've had in a while. Great for her!

Why do you hate the Netherlands?

Betts might be the answer for beating teams like Indiana.
Put a glide in your stride and a dip in your hip.

I think Betts might be the answer for beating teams period. We may be in a similar position to South Carolina where Boston and Saxton start, however if the offense bogs down they go bigger with Boston and Cardoso. The difference there is that you can have more post to post passing with Boston to Cardoso because Cardoso is a bigger higher target when dealing with tight spaces. Similarly if defenses are clogging the lane for Brink and Iriafen, then we bring in Betts for Iriafen and hopefully the entry passes get easier for Betts because she can present a higher target. Then defenses have to make a difficult decision of do you try and double Betts in the low post or do you double Brink in the high post because she is going to drive

I'm out of town and had to watch the game early the next morning and only now am looking at the comments here.
What, no one commented on the call at 1:06 left in the first half??? After all our discussion last week?
When I heard the announcers say the refs names at the start of the game, I knew it was going to be bad. Price & Bacon. I didn't recognize the third ref, who I believe called the first foul just 16 seconds into the game. Sigh. You'd see muggings at one end, and fouls by a player's shadow at the other. If it wasn't a blowout....

Checking the play by play to see what you're referring to...
Oh yes, that one. I noticed it at the time but didn't think to post about it. IMO, it was a legitimate turnover under the rule we discussed. Nivar went out of bounds, came back in while the ball was in the air, and was then the first to touch it.
I don't remember exactly why the ball was in the air. I think a blocked shot, deflected pass, or maybe Nivar tipped it into the air trying to control it before she went out of bounds. Will have to look at the video for that.
p.s. She had been dribbling, got bumped, stepped out, then tried to recover the ball after stepping back in. The ASU player might or might not have touched the ball (Nivar made a "touched" signal while running back on defense). But even if ASU touched the ball, that occurred before Nivar came back in bounds.
