First time Stanford has defeated ND in mens basketball. Start of a long tradition?
Put a glide in your stride and a dip in your hip.

Not thinking that was a wise shot, but when it goes in you are the hero.

Final FT disparity was 28 FTs by ND to 16 by LSJU. In 7 road ACC games, LSJU has taken just 86 FTs while its hosts have taken 170.

So satisfying as a fan to see guys besides Okorie come up with clutch shots in the final minutes. Have to admit the Thompson three just about gave me a heart attack, but he was open, for sure. I also thought Stanford's defense played well and guys fought for rebounds. Wish the free throws had gone down at a higher percentage, but overall the entire team is playing with confidence and Okorie is doing Okorie (i.e. amazing) things.
Not trying to boast or make any predictions, just saying: Stanford looked like an NCAA tournament team tonight.

That's reasonable given that he was our second leading scorer. The guard play has been fantastic between Benny "Buckets" and Jeremy "Dent the Net" Smith (great guard play will be needed to make a run). The big men, especially Aiden Camman, but others as well (how big was Thompson's 3 last night) continue to improve with every game. Of course there is "Buu" leading the charge as the best player in a Stanford uniform that I've ever seen. He can create, drive, dish, shoot the tre, finish, steal and play Great defense. He has a gear that is extremely rare and I loved that the commentators last night were comparing him to Isaiah Thomas. That's a true compliment to this gifted freshmen phenom.
One game at a time, but I would love to see them keep improving and keep winning. They are so fun to watch right now, and I haven't said that about a Stanford men's hoops team in a long, long time. Keep it up, Coach Kyle and Team!
PS Hat's off to the SigEps heading up to Sacramento to cheer on Maxime this weekend! Let's get the 6th Man Club raging again!

I will only remember him for one thing and that is endorsing and making videos for virulent racist Jesse Helms in the 80s.
I know nothing about that.
What I do know is that he coached college football for 33 years. During which time he undoubtedly had some influence over the lives of hundreds of young black men. And from what I’ve read about him – a positive influence.
If that’s wrong – then I will stand corrected.
Here's his Wikipedia entry, so folks can judge for themselves. Coach Holtz had his share of non-political controversies as well, but I agree that overall he was a great ambassador for college football, especially in his post-coaching days.
