Lamson in the first half: 12 of 13 passing for 228 (!) yards and a long TD. Plus 9 QB keepers and 2 rushing TDs. Standing tall in the pocket, throwing with confidence and had a nice stiff arm and and lowered shoulder on his best run. The opponent isn't exactly Pac12 or Power 4 but still, he is dealing. Montana St winning 21-7 at halftime.

I tuned in just in time to see the last play of the game -- Lamson completed a TD pass to the corner of the end zone on 4th and 10; the kick wins the FCS title for Montana St 35-34.  Lamson's receiver was open by 5 yards.

Very happy for Lamson. MTST just won the championship in OT. 

The ILST kicker got his last-minute FG blocked and got his XP blocked in the OT period. Opened the door for the MTST XP in OT to be the winning point.

Seriously, the receiver’s name was “Taco”? He was wide open because the defense brought an all-out blitz (7 rushers) on fourth down, leaving four defenders 1-on-1.  Someone was bound to have gotten a step, and if you look, at least two receivers could easily have gotten a touchdown.

As for "Taco" Dowler who caught the winning TD, our fellow LSJU alum Dave Flemming noted on the telecast that his real name is McLean, he liked Taco Bell as a little kid, has a twin brother (Caden) who plays LB for Montana St. "Taco" is listed at just 5-9, 170 but was apparently a 10.9 100m sprinter in HS, 21.9 in the 200m and 22'+ in the long jump.

Gotta say big congrats to David Bailey - he looked awesome in the Oregon game - kinda makes me sad that we had 
wasted a legit top 10 draft pick talent during the recent malaise and that he had to go elsewhere to really shine... but good luck to him and just hope he is not around when the Rams use the Falcons pick (49ers fan).

Despite being drafted as TT player I look forward to following his NFL career and expect much havoc to follow in many a backfield!

I had to check Lamson's collegiate path again b/c I thought he'd transferred somewhere else after leaving Stanford - I remembered correctly. Anyhow, here's his story:

21-22 seasons: @ Syracuse. Redshirted the 2021 season season. Expected to be the QB2 for 2022 but suffered a season-ending injury in 2021 spring practice & DNP in 2022

April, 2023: enters the portal, signs with Stanford

23-24 seasons: @ Stanford, primarily as the backup to Ashton Daniels. Overall, played in 24 games, starting 4. Finished with 62 completions in 135 attempts for 804 yards, 4 TD & 4 INTs + rushed for 428 yds on 188 carries, scoring 13 TDs

Dec, 24: Earns BA in Sociology

That isn't a large subset of graduating players. There is also the distinct possibility that their academic endeavors will be better served by leaving. Going to prominent school in the area where they want to live may create opportunities that are much more attractive than staying at Stanford . Therefore retaining such players will probably be quite difficult.

Montana St: avg attendance about 21000-22000 (3rd or 4th in FCS), stadium capacity = 17000 + a recent 5200-seat addition in the end zone.  

LSJU: avg attendance 28000 (really?!), stadium capacity = about 50,000.

Just a thought:  Maybe 21000 folks crammed into a sold-out stadium provide a lot more vocal support than 28000 folks in a half-sold venue.  (Of course, as we all know, the weekend entertainment options in Bozeman are somewhat limited compared to the Bay Area.)
