There is one interesting question here. TheĀ Vasily Bekh was a 1,200 ton vessel. Such a ship hit by two harpoon missiles should have been obliterated. Maybe it was, we don't really know how long it took for her to sink. However, reports indicated she burned for a while. I wouldn't have expected that. I guess it is possible both missiles hit the prominent forward superstructure, but even so I would expect she would sink quite quickly. She was not a warship and thus compartmentalization is minimal. As a tug, she is also all engines and generators. Plus a good part of what she carried probably was designed to explode.
