If we are so fortunate to get by Clemson on Wednesday, then we will get a rested Louisville on Thursday.
If we are so fortunate to get by Louisville on Thursday, then we will get a rested Duke on Friday.
If we were able, somehow, to beat Duke, then we would be 19-13 and in the ACC semifinals. We would have won 8 of the last 9, including knocking off Duke with the #7 NET. If all that happened, then I think we are then in the NCAAs.
So we can dream.
But we have already lost to all three of the teams we have to beat.
Beating Clemson is quite possible, given that we took them to overtime on their home court.
Our Louisville and Duke games during the regular season were really very bad. And we would be playing them under poor conditions, with no time to rest and scout and prepare. A game a day. They, on the other hand, will each have no prior games before playing us (or whoever reaches them.)
Realistically, we can hope for another win, but anything more than that will fall into the category of minor miracles.
However, perhaps our strong finish, especially if we win another game, gets us an opportunity in one of the minor tournaments. With such a young team, it would be good to have more experience rather than less. It also might give Agara a chance to come back this season.
Does anyone know anything about the NIT and the other minor tournament? If we beat Clemson and got three wins out of one of those tournaments, we could at least make it to a 20 win season.
