Having kept track of this team and how the season has unfolded, it's not a surprise, but once you stop to think about it, it's a little bit surreal to associate what you just said with the Stanford women's basketball team.
For as long as I've been a fan, it was a matter of how high of a seeding we will get and how the committee has underestimated us by not granting us a #1 seed. It was always assumed we would be in.
We would have to go back to the early years of Tara's tenure for a time when the program was shut out of the NCAA tournament.
I do not like this feeling and hope it's a one year aberration that will not happen again for a long time. With Ogden's improved play and the emergence of Agara coupled with the arrival of Swain, Somfai and Eschmeyer next year, I hope we can get back to having a NCAA tournament appearance be automatic every March.
