This sets up an no lose proposition for those arguing that Eschmeyer should see more playing time. If Eschmeyer is successful, the echo will be “why wasn’t she given more time earlier”, and if she winds up being a bust then the argument will be tha Paye screwed up her development by not giving her more playing time.
