I thought the top 8 advanced to match play? I only mention it because UVA, #2 nationally, is tied for 8th at the moment.

Yes, I see now that the men's and women's tournaments *are* different. In the women's tournament, the top 6 advance to match play. In the men's tournament, it's the top 8.

I'll add that I think the ACC tournament matters more for Stanford than for Virginia. Virginia is going to get a top seeding at regionals regardless of the ACC tournament results. I think the goal for Stanford is to be ranked high enough to be assigned to a regional out west (Corvallis or Tucson area) rather than go cross-country as they did last year (to Amherst, Virginia).
