If true, there's your answer for the National Championship as well.
Have a National Champion for Stroke Play [honoring the team that came out on top using the type of scoring that is overwhelmingly used all season long] and a National Champion for Match Play [honoring the team that came out on top in the format that TV really wants because it's more exciting]. If the same team wins both, that's great -- that team really did prove that it was the CHAMPION. If a different team wins Match Play -- as has happened rather frequently -- you've got two happy teams AND fodder for talking heads on the golf shows for at least a week as to which team is actually better [a BONUS for TV].
Win-Win ... literally.
