Shaw was here for 12 years, and the Sheriff was here for 7 years. The other five coaches since 1989 averaged three years each (Green, Walsh II, Teevens, Harris, Harbaugh). Hopefully we get a long-termer...

By overall rating, maybe, but not by volume. When I think "most aggressive," I think number of transfers in/out, a la Colorado.

By volume, It's Louisville no contest. They took 27, the fourth most in the country and most in the ACC by a mile, to Miami/FSU's mid-teens.

I have absolutely heard USC under Riley characterized as "mercenary." Almost all the teams in the Pac-12 are. The most transfers per capita of all P5 conferences, even factoring in Stanford. IMO, the fact that the ousted players can "turn their gaze back in the direction of Boulder and snicker quietly" about the loss to Stanford doesn't even come close to making up for what was done to the "70 or so former Buffalo players on scholarship who got run off." They deserve sympathetic consideration and to be viewed as very unfortunate casualties of the new coach's utter lack of empathy and mania for immediately winning big. What was done sheds bright light on Deion Sanders' value priorities and non-existent sense of responsibility for the players who were recruited to and committed to play for the U. of Colorado. They were treated like disaposable commodities, as if they were players on a business-oriented, win-at-all costs, professional football league team. I certainly hope that Deion's mentality (along with Lincoln Riley's) is not the harbinger of what will happen and more and more universities over time.
