Simone Roslon listed as OH to make five players on the roster at that position.

Stanford plays one match at Penn State on September 13. Do they play Penn State? No, they play Ohio. Not The Ohio State. The Ohio no one knows about in sports.
Why travel to Penn State to play one match against a nothing burger in WVB. They could play cup cakes at Stanford in non-conference.
If there is a Q/A session at the open practice/BBQ maybe someone could ask why this is on the schedule. I'm sure there is a reason which I'm not aware of.

Just checked out the Ohio U. women's volleyball schedule. It tells a different story.
My guess is that gostanford.com is flat-out wrong or maybe this is a developing situation...
If there's one thing people have learned in Berkeley, it's that you can't put "Cal football" and "Rose Bowl" in the same sentence. The words just don't fit. You'd be better off linking "covered wagons" with "Mars travel." (Bruce Jenkins, Cal '70, SF Chronicle, Nov. 11, 2017)

How about this: Penn State invited both Stanford and Ohio for that weekend. PSU then scheduled the Stanford match for The Palestra, not their home court, because they can sell a ton more tickets for Stanford than for Ohio. Then, they scheduled Stanford-Ohio for their home court , not The Palestra, so that the Stanford-Ohio match isn’t played in a mausoleum. Seems to make sense.

It’s a three-hour plus road trip from Philly to State College

According to The Stanford Daily, the match is being held at The Palestra in celebration of the 100 year anniversary of that iconic venue… and it also has 2000 more seats than the Rec Hall at PSU, their home court.
So there’s that…

You weren't making stuff up. I checked the Stanford schedule before I checked the Ohio U. schedule. As of 4:45 pm PT on July 28, 2026, the gostanford.com schedule now shows Stanford playing Penn State on Friday, Sept. 11 at the Palestra and Ohio U. on Sunday, Sept. 13 in State College.
So here's the first month's lineup as I type:
Aug. 28 vs Wisconsin in Pittsburgh, PA
Aug. 30 vs Kansas in Pittsburgh, PA
Sept. 3 vs South Florida at home
Sept. 6 vs Marquette at home
Sept. 9 vs Texas A&M in Kissimmee, FL
Sept. 11 vs Penn State in Philadelphia, PA
Sept. 13 vs Ohio in State College, PA
Sept. 17 vs ASU in San Luis Obispo, CA
Sept. 18 vs Santa Clara in San Luis Obispo, CA
Sept. 20 vs Cal Poly SLO in San Luis Obispo, CA
Sept. 25 vs SMU in Dallas, TX
Sept. 27 vs Pitt in Pittsburgh, PA
Only 2 out of the first 12 matches are at home. That's quite the schedule!

Changing thread direction, BYU WVB and some other BYU sports are making a NIL deal with BYU. Much of BYU funding comes from tithing by LDS members.

The team arrived yesterday assume practice today. On Sr day only Harvey will be honored which answers a 2027 roster question

Darn, I was really hoping Harvey, Stanford's highest jumping and most athletic player, would stay for 2027. I sure hope Hickman has what it takes to play OPP.

Harvey is in year 4. Are you referring to her staying for a 5th year? Volleyball has been largely immune to losing key players to the transfer portal. I'm ecstatic players are staying for 4 years. I'm not expecting the 5th year option to become commonplace for us.
