Well, I predicted 31 to 19 (1 TD and 4 FGs). Well, VT has their 31 but we are 4 FGs short of 19. I was too optimistic about how we'd perform. Mea culpa.

The only good thing to come out of this game is that it is now transparently obvious who our starting QB should be once his injury -- whatever it is -- is healed.
Sheeeesh. Well, obviously this was a our TRAP GAME before the Legends Showdown next week in South Bend, NBC 3:30pm ET.

This all looks like Taylor is playing for Next Year's lineup, giving the younger O-Line the start, and saving Brown for 2025.
The Running Back Corp is young.
But, 6 or 7 starters on Defense won't be back.
After this one, I'll be surprised if we win another game this year.
Not sure what the answer is, but I don't think it is Lamson at QB.

I don't think this game was every going to turn out any different. Didn't get a chance to watch any of it live, though.
From the highlights/box score, I'm encouraged that the offense actually mounted a drive or two in the first half, and I'm very pleasantly surprised that the defense wasn't complete tissue paper against a good running team.
There will be better days *this season* for Stanford under Troy Taylor, I promise!

And yes too early in season to toss in the white towel or fall prostrate on our own bayonets
To me the frustration is that, while seeing some notable improvements like we’ve noted on the board,
it also seems like some things have shockingly slid worse for no apparent reason, or at least not to this distant armchair analyst.
Turnovers, bad decisions, bad ref calls, injuries, slip and falls, odd play calls, just general mistakes and/or bad luck,
Have all seemed to undermine the notable improvements that we would otherwise celebrate.
